Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the State University of New York is now accepting applications for the Carey Gabay Scholarship Program. This scholarship is in honor of Carey Gabay, an attorney and public servant, who was tragically killed as an innocent victim of gun violence in 2015. The program is aimed at providing Full Scholarships to SUNY Colleges For Disadvantage students

This year celebrities leading the pack with the most nominations are Tamela Mann and Travis Greene with 9 nominations and Hezekiah Walker with 7 nominations. The Artist of the Year for the Stella Awards is the major category that honors Gospel Music artists, writers, and industry professionals.

The New York Association of Black Journalists announces the return of their annual awards gala. The biggest and brightest Stars of Journalism will be recognized at an awards gala marked in September 2016. All editors, reporters and producers will get a chance to become forward thinkers regarding this year's competition during the contest period of May 1 and close on May 31st.
