Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez today announced that a 33-year-old Brooklyn man was sentenced to 90 years to life in prison for killing three people, including a 76-year-old innocent bystander, near a New York City Housing Authority Complex in Fort Greene in September 2015.
Federal Funding will be available for Seniors, Working Families and Low-and Moderate-Income Residents beginning November 13, 2017, for emergency assistance. Mayor Baraka reminds residents that a City Ordinance is in effect for Landlords as of October 1, 2015, and continuing through May 1, 2016. Landlords must provide tenants with heat at 68 degrees from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 65 degrees from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., or City inspectors will respond to tenants' complaints of no heat or hot water. New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Division of Codes and Standards has also set a bulletin with basic information about the responsibilities of landlords
