
The Jonelle Procope Theater, named in honor of the former Apollo President/CEO, presented “Frederic Yonnet” in a 99-seat flexible black box theater last night. All seats were filled with Harlem, New York’s affluent jazz listeners. A night of getting intimate with jazz comprised the cafe with stories about Frederic Yonnet’s transformed popularity on stage with Prince and his mother’s ancestral past that drove his legacy. Ethiopian breed, Frederic Yonnet became one of the most influential harmonica artists leaders in the world.
Harlem, NY - The Famous Apollo theatre, creator of ground talent for decades has now added a new and intimate concert cafe inbedded in the Hotel Renassaince of Harlem's Apollo Theatre District. It is called the Apollo Music Café series and the theater presents independent artists to a unique A-list of spectators. Scouting talent in a different and diverse array of performances across a myriad of genres (R&B, hip hop, soul, jazz, pop, funk, and rock), is not always hard to scout, but the Jonelle Procope Theater, found the Harmonicist Frédéric Yonnet who has branded his name and business model into Harlem NY's innovative intimate wall of concerts and conversations.
The "Grab That" performance began with the star of the show seated in the cafe audience playing the soundstage using audio Intimacy. The closeness as all the Whites in the cafe stood up to the familiarity that connected the show to the streets of Harlem and the spiritual dimensions that surrounds the city. Awesome work and encore if you missed the signature-greatness last night.
