Bringing Back The Old Soul Funk Gospel To New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC)

Chaka Khan is an icon in the world of gifted and talented musicians that has left a legacy to follow. Ten-time Grammy Award winner and International icon with the World Renowned hit "Ain't No Body" and "I Feel For You" will be performing at New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Prudential Hall, Newark, New Jersey along with New York Broadway's Star, "Never Knew Love Like This Before" "Home", Stephanie Mills.

Chaka Khan As We Know Her

Chaka Khan is a gifted icon in the music industry and has celebrated over 40 years in the music and entertainment industry with International icon status for her works "Ain't Nobody" and "I Feel For You".   In 2013, Chaka was honored with the BET Music Arts Award for her 25 contributions to music starting with her original recordings by the artist Prince and the iconic Stevie Wonder and of course the Band Rufus.  A song-writer, actor, author, philanthropist, entreprenuer and activist, Ms. Khan has paved the way for many influential artist to record in the music industry and has left the world with undeniable experiences of funk, soul, jazz, and gospel sounds.  Born in 1953, Chaka Khan known to her family as Yvette Stevens, has sold her mother's story of valued self-preservation and what Black culuture means to the world today.

Stephanie Mills As We Know Her

Stephanie Mills was first recognized as "the little girl with the big voice" when she starred in the hit Broadway play, The Wiz, and the adaptation of L. Frank Baum's classic book, "The Wizard of Oz.  Ms. Mills is best remembered in the music industry for her works "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love," "I Feel Good All Over," and (You're Putting) "A Rush On Me."  Stephanie Mills is a native of Brooklyn, New York and is a R&B, Soul, and Gospel artist singer-songwriter who began her career in a Baptist Church at age 9 and later regenerated to Amatuer night at the all famous Apollo Theater, Harlem, New York landed her a six week career for future leadership "status quo," the opening act for the World Renowed Group, The Isley Brothers.  The day came when something good began to happen for Stephanie Mills and her success peaked to become the number one R&B hit maker "Movin In The Right Direction" with ABC records in 1974.  Ms. Mills today is still a showstopper who mesmerzes audiences and will be growing new opportunity in a new role "Aunt Em," NBC's live musical production of The Wiz.                     ###
