Vice President Biden & Governor Cuomo Address 300 First Responders

Vice President Joe Biden and Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today were joined by more than 300 first responders. The Fire and Police Departments across New York State joined as part of the 9/11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride. The Purpose of the 9/11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride was to design paid tribute to the strength, courage, and heroism of the police and fire department personnel following 9/11 terrorism.

According to Governor Cuomo, today was to honor all those who rushed into danger on September 11, and who overcame fear in order to help others."  We must all remember that freedom isn't free, and on that day 14 years ago, these men and women put their duty and their obligations first knowing it could cost them their life.  We admire them and we hope that after all they have done for us  that we show half the courage they did because they are true Americans and true New York heroes."

The New York State Police Superintendent Joseph A. D'Amico , Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye, Patrolmens Benevolent Association President Patrick J. Lynch, and Uniformed Firefighters Association of Greater New York President Steve Cassidy all had words for the courage, bravery, sacrifice and sense of duty exemplified by New Yorkers that supported the memory of 9/11.  The tragedy and the good that came out of today for the hero was what New York City bravest did along with the collective efforts of the Nation.  A new bill must be passed and pushed through legislation.
